The facility had a containment room built for exactly this purpose which had, up until now, gone entirely without use. To say that it functioned according to plan would be an overstatement. Whoever had designed the room had not deigned it with the full knowledge of this beast's maneuvering capabilities.

Almost as soon as it regained its wall-climbing ability, it took up a permanent residence in the little nook between the wall and ceiling, just above the viewing window. The remote cameras would have worked well, except that the thing knocked them off the second they tried to adjust them so the alien was in the field of view.

The research team was out of luck, out of patience, and stagnating when Jack got a Pavlovian idea of his own.

"We could shock it, every time it goes up there, we shock it so it jumps down, should keep it from going up there. If I'm right, we should be able to send a surge through the lights, and maybe that film of muck it's covered with conducts electricity, maybe. Whaddya think?"

The others nodded, and Stewart motioned over to the circuit box in the corner. "Get to work, eh?"

So he did, and pulling out the wires that ran into the containment room, he cut the rubber and touched them to each other. Small sparks could be heard, and something of a yelp as well. The creature was now in the far corner, confused, cowering, not knowing what to attack to never feel the pain again.
